چکیده

Polymers are the backbone of a transdermal drug delivery system as they control the release of the drug from the device. Biodegradable polymers attracts the attention of its use as they can be degraded to non-toxic monomers and most important, a constant rate of drug release can be achieved from a biodegradable polymer based controlled release device. Natural polymers can be used as the means of achieving predetermined rates of drug delivery and their physico-chemical characteristics with the ease of availability provide a platform to use it as a polymer for transdermal drug delivery systems. These polymers may be used to formulate various controlled and targeted drug delivery system. *Corresponding author, mailing address: Kiran Sharma II E 96/A Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad, UP 201001. Controlled delivery of drug from the device to the biological system can be achieved by various means. Controlled drug release can also be achieved by embedding the drug onto a polymeric material and then releasing the drug in a predesigned controlled manner from the polymer into the blood stream. This is achieved by the use of transdermal drug delivery system that is made of polymeric
